April Fools Done Right

The One Day Brands Get to Cause a Bit of Chaos

April Fools is one of the only days where brands can get away with being a little bit chaotic… and we all just accept it.

Some play it safe.
Some miss the mark completely.
And some absolutely nail it.

This year? There were a few that genuinely got us. The kind where you click, pause, question it… and then immediately send it to someone else.

The Rick Roll We Should Have Seen Coming

When Co-op Live dropped a link promising a discount, we did what everyone else did…

Clicked it.

And yes, we got Rick Rolled.

Classic. Predictable. Still funny.

It worked because it didn’t try to be clever for the sake of it. It just leaned into something everyone already knows and loves and committed to it fully.

No notes. We respect it.

“We’ve Rebranded” … Panic Over

Now this one from Tala was very good.

An email lands saying they’ve rebranded. Naturally, people are confused. Slight panic. Maybe even a “why have they done that?” moment.

Then the reveal… April Fools.

But instead of just leaving it there, they actually gave you something. A 20 percent discount sitting nicely inside the email.

So yes, they got your attention.
But they also made it worth your time.

We love that.

The Pet AirWrap… Because Of Course Dyson Did

The Dyson Pet AirWrap had everyone doing a double take.

On one hand, absolutely ridiculous.
On the other… it’s Dyson, so is it?

That’s what made it so good. It felt just believable enough to make you question it for a second, which is exactly where the magic happens.

Also, not saying we’d buy it… but we’re also not not saying that.

Matcha Mayo. We’re Still Thinking About It.

And then Heinz came along with Perfect Ted and gave us matcha mayo.

A sentence we didn’t expect to write this year.

It was weird. It was slightly unsettling. It sparked immediate opinions.

Which is exactly what it was meant to do.

Love it or hate it, you definitely had a reaction. And you probably spoke about it. Which means… job done.

We Love To See It

Your business isn’t static, so your website shouldn’t be either.

April Fools campaigns don’t need to be complicated.

The ones that land are usually the ones that are simple, a little bit clever and actually fun to engage with.

These ones got us. And honestly, we’re not even mad about it.

As always, you know where we are!
