National Walking Month 2025
May is known as the start of spring and the infamous National Walking Month 2025 — a campaign that encourages people from all walks of life (literally!) to lace up their shoes, get outdoors and enjoy a good ol’ walk!
At TLH Marketing, this month has been more than just a nod to physical health. For us, walking is part of our lifestyle, our creative process and how we stay connected as a team. Whether it’s a lunchtime loop around the local area, a weekend hike in the hills or just a breather between busy meetings, walking gives us space to reset, to think, and often, to find our next big idea.
Why We Walk
Yes, walking is great for fitness — it gets the blood pumping, clears the cobwebs and helps us stay active in the middle of our desk-bound days. But beyond the physical benefits, it’s the mental clarity that really makes walking something we value. A bit of movement, some fresh air and time away from screens creates the perfect conditions for creativity to flourish.
Some of our best campaign ideas have come to life not in the meeting room, but while wandering. There’s something about being outside that allows ideas and conversations to flow naturally.
Our Favourite Local Walks
Being based in the heart of Lancashire, we’re lucky to have some amazing walking spots right on our doorstep. These are a few of our team favourites:
- Rivington – A local classic with stunning views, reservoirs and woodland paths.
- White Coppice – Tranquil and picturesque, it’s our go-to for a peaceful escape.
- The Fairy Glen – A hidden gem with magical scenery and a sense of calm.
- The Tolkien Trail – Not just for literature fans, this scenic route is full of history, charm and plenty of creative inspiration.
A Walk Is Never Just a Walk
Walking brings so much more than movement. It brings perspective. It sparks ideas. At TLH, we encourage walking meetings, outdoor catch-ups and even mid-day step challenges during busy campaigns.
National Walking Month is a reminder that walking isn’t just a once-a-year thing — it’s something we try to build into our everyday work culture. Here’s to more steps, more fresh air and more great ideas.
